Capital Bank launched a series of health and community initiatives as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aimed at promoting breast health and early detection. The initiatives were carried out in partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, with participation from Capital Bank employees.
At its headquarters, Capital Bank offered female employees medical and clinical screenings to encourage early detection and help them take a more active role in their health. The screenings were provided as part of the bank’s efforts to maintain a supportive workplace focused on employee wellbeing.
The bank also held a virtual awareness session for female employees across its different locations. The session provided information on breast health, risk factors and the importance of early detection.
As part of its community initiatives, Capital Bank hosted “The Hope Shop” by King Hussein Cancer Foundation at its headquarters, giving employees the opportunity to support the fight against cancer by purchasing products and handmade items, with all proceeds supporting the Foundation’s efforts. The initiative received strong engagement from employees, reflecting their spirit of giving and commitment to supporting the community.
Touleen Barto, EVP - Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Capital Bank, said: “Employee health and wellbeing are a key priority at Capital Bank. We aim to turn breast cancer awareness into action by encouraging early detection and greater attention to personal health. These initiatives, which we are proud to organize each year, also highlight the importance of our partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. They give our employees the opportunity to contribute to national efforts to fight cancer”.
These efforts reflect Capital Bank’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of its employees and maintaining a supportive workplace. They also reinforce the bank’s support for national institutions working in healthcare and the fight against cancer.

In 2005, Capital Bank of Jordan acquired a majority stake 61.85% in the National Bank of Iraq (NBI). Continuing its expansion strategy, NBI opened its first branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023, offering financial and trade services to its corporate clients.

In 2022, Capital Bank strengthened its capital base by issuing a USD 100 million Tier 1 perpetual bond—the first of its kind for a Jordanian bank in the local market, listed on NASDAQ Dubai. Additionally, Capital Bank raised its capital by issuing new shares to the Public Investment Fund (PIF), one of the largest sovereign funds globally, as a strategic investor. As part of efforts to strengthen its financial position and support its expansion plans, Capital Bank signed a green subordinated loan agreement of USD 155 million with leading international financial institutions.
