Amman, October 10th, 2026: Building on the success of the inaugural Zain Esports Jo University Championship in 2025, Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) and Zain Esports Jo have launched the second edition of the championship, reaffirming Zain Jordan’s commitment to supporting the growth of esports in the Kingdom and creating more opportunities for young people to participate and pursue professional careers in the sector.
Through its esports center, Zain Jordan continues to play an active role in developing the local esports scene and strengthening its presence as a rapidly growing industry worldwide. The championship provides university students with an opportunity to showcase their skills, gain competitive experience, and develop their abilities in a professional environment. It also supports the identification and development of emerging talent, helping prepare a new generation of players to compete at regional and international levels.
This step reflects Zain’s broader commitment to empowering young people and supporting the growth of the digital economy. As esports continues to create new opportunities in digital skills development and employment, initiatives such as this championship contribute to building a sustainable esports ecosystem in Jordan, diversifying economic opportunities, and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a promising regional hub for the industry.
The second edition will see students from 16 Jordanian universities compete in EA SPORTS FC 27, with each university represented by one male player and one female player. The championship aims to provide university students with a dedicated platform to demonstrate their abilities, sharpen their skills, and experience competitive esports, while encouraging wider participation in gaming and esports among young people across Jordan.
The qualifiers will run from 9 to 27 October 2026, with the finals scheduled for 30 October 2026 at the ARC, located at King Hussein Business Park. The final stage will bring together the players who qualify through the preliminary rounds to compete for the championship title.
