(Karak – 13 September 2026) A new customer service contact center operated by Zain Jordan was inaugurated today in Karak Governorate with the support of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. The facility will provide sustainable employment opportunities for 15 young men and women from the local community. The opening ceremony was attended by Omar Al‑Fanek, Secretary‑General of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, representing the Minister, alongside Fahad Al‑Jassim, Chief Executive Officer of Zain Jordan.
Secretary‑General Al‑Fanek underscored that the launch of the centre forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts under the Economic Modernisation Vision, which places at its core the strengthening of public‑private partnerships and the expansion of opportunities for Jordanian youth across the governorates. He noted that between 2018 and 2023, the Ministry co‑financed the establishment of eight contact centres in partnership with Zain, generating 105 permanent jobs to date. The Karak centre, he added, represents a further step in this trajectory. These initiatives, he stressed, are not merely financial support but rather institutionalised financing mechanisms designed to ensure economic viability and sustainability, while encouraging companies to invest in the governorates and leverage their competitive advantages. In doing so, they contribute to local development and create new economic opportunities.
Zain reaffirmed that this initiative comes as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to support youth and local communities through sustainable projects that create stable and long-term employment opportunities. As part of this commitment, Zain is expanding its Contact Center initiative across the Kingdom’s governorates, covering all three regions of Jordan. In the north, the initiative includes centers in Jerash and Ajloun; in the central region, centers in Madaba, Deir Alla, and Salt; and in the south, centers in Ma’an and Karak. This is in addition to the Contact Centers located at the company’s headquarters in Amman and in Tafilah, bringing the total number of Zain Contact Centers across the Kingdom to nine.
Zain emphasized that empowering youth and investing in their talents, skills, and capabilities remain key priorities within its community programs and initiatives. This commitment reflects the company’s strong belief in the role of the private sector and the importance of effective public-private partnerships in driving sustainable economic and social development across all governorates of the Kingdom.
