Umniah by Beyon, recognized as Jordan’s Best Mobile Network, has renewed the certification of its Security Operations Center (SOC) against the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), following an independent assessment. The renewal marks the continuation of the centre`s PCI DSS certification since 2019 and reflects its ongoing application of internationally recognized security controls for protecting payment card data.
The continued certification demonstrates the SOC’s commitment to maintaining information security and compliance as part of its day-to-day operations. It also strengthens its ability to support financial institutions, fintech companies, and payment service providers in protecting sensitive data and managing their digital risks.
PCI DSS is particularly relevant to organizations operating in environments where payment and financial data require high levels of protection, governance, and oversight. For these organizations, independently assessed security controls are an important consideration when selecting cybersecurity providers and evaluating their operational readiness.
The renewal builds on the role of Umniah’s SOC in delivering 24/7 managed cybersecurity services, including threat monitoring and security incident response. The center combines specialized technical expertise with an understanding of customers’ operational and regulatory requirements, helping organizations manage digital risks and protect their critical assets and sensitive data.
Commenting on the renewal, Amjad Frouqa, Director of Information Security & Business Continuity at Umniah, said: “Maintaining our PCI DSS certification since 2019 reflects our continued focus on applying, reviewing and assessing security controls. The value of the certification goes beyond meeting the requirements of a standard. It gives our customers confidence that the security practices supporting our operations are based on clear international requirements and are subject to independent assessment.”
Frouqa added: “Financial institutions operate in digital environments that continue to evolve while being subject to increasingly rigorous security and regulatory requirements. Choosing a cybersecurity provider therefore goes beyond technical capabilities. Governance, compliance, and operational readiness are equally important. Renewing our PCI DSS certification strengthens our ability to meet these requirements and deliver managed services backed by clear security controls and specialized operational expertise, giving our customers greater confidence in managing their digital risks and protecting sensitive data.”
